We started last season (like we have this season) basically signing nobody, and there’s no way in the world he was happy with the situation. People can argue we had a big injury crisis last season. Was that purely down to the Europa League? Chelsea have played probably 40 or 50 Champions League games in the last three seasons. Do they moan about injury crises? In 2000/2001 we had no Europe and we were so thin because of injuries we were playing with Kevin Gallagher on his own up front at the finish. As I said Pardew has done well this week, truly magnificent results to be proud of, but what he needs to do is pipe down, and get this club where it should be back in European football.
